Türkiye vows to thwart terrorist plans in region
In a resolute stance against terrorism, Türkiye has declared its unwavering determination to prevent the implementation of any schemes aimed at establishing a zone controlled by terrorist organizations near its southern borders.
Turkish Minister of National Defence Yaşar Güler underscored this commitment during a meeting with military branch commanders on June 10, AZERTAC reports.
Minister Güler emphasized that Türkiye stands firmly against any endeavors to alter the realities in the region, particularly on Syrian territory. He vehemently opposed the organization of pseudo-elections as a tactic to advance the formation of a quasi-state entity by terrorists, affirming Ankara's resolve to dismantle such plans.
Highlighting the success of anti-terrorist operations conducted by the Turkish Armed Forces, Minister Güler noted a significant decline in the ranks of militant groups operating in the region. He attributed this accomplishment to Türkiye's proactive measures and emphasized the failure of terrorist propaganda aimed at recruiting young individuals, including those from Europe.
Minister Güler reiterated that militants have only one viable option: to disarm and surrender to Turkish justice.
