Twenty-seven countries engaged in military drills in Jordan
Military manoeuvres codenamed "Swift Lion", in which military personnel from 27 countries, including the United States, Great Britain and France, take part, began on September 4 in Jordan.
According to the statement of the headquarters of the Armed Forces of the Kingdom, the exercises will be held from September 4 to 15 "at the ranges of the Armed Forces of Jordan, as well as at the Special Operations Training Center of King Abdullah II and the National Center for Security and Crisis Management", TASS reports.
It was noted that "the scenarios of manoeuvres developed taking into account the most dangerous threats, primarily terrorist, and the possibility of using weapons of mass destruction, will be as close as possible to the real conditions of combat operations".
It is also indicated that during the multilateral exercises, "various land-based and sea-based weapons, the Air Force" will be involved. No information was provided on the number of the military involved in the manoeuvres.
In addition to the Jordanian forces and representatives of the above-mentioned countries, military personnel from Germany, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Poland, Pakistan, Australia, Kenya, Iraq, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and some other states will take part in several phases of the "Swift Lion".
