White House: Qatar to transfer aircraft to US in full legal compliance
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has announced that Qatar extended an offer to transfer an aircraft to the US Department of Defence in full compliance with the law.
In a recent interview with Fox News, Leavitt said that the legal details "are still being worked out," Caliber.Az reports.
"Any donation to this government is always done in full compliance with the law, and we commit ourselves to the utmost transparency, and we will continue to do that," Leavitt said, adding that Trump "only works with the interests of the American public in mind."
The administration of President Trump is set to receive a remarkable gift from the Qatari royal family: a luxurious Boeing 747-8 jet. According to reports, the aircraft, valued at approximately $400 million, will be the most expensive gift ever presented to the United States by a foreign government.
Sources suggest that the jet could be formally presented to President Trump as soon as next week during his visit to Qatar. The value does not include additional communication and security equipment, which would further enhance the aircraft’s capabilities. The Boeing 747-8, which features opulent interior suites, has earned the nickname "airborne palace."
In February, President Trump had the opportunity to tour the aircraft, which has since been tailored to meet the highest standards of luxury and comfort. Trump will reportedly have use of the jet for the remainder of his presidential term. Afterward, it will be transferred to the Trump Presidential Library.
