Death toll from Israeli strikes on Gaza hits 52,862
The death toll from Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has reached 52,862, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.
In the past 24 hours, 33 people were killed in the ongoing bombardments, with an additional 94 injured, Caliber.Az reports per Turkish media.
The total number of casualties since the start of the conflict has now surpassed 119,648, with thousands of Palestinians still trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings.
Israeli forces resumed intense attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip on March 18, following the expiration of a ceasefire agreement which had come into effect on January 19.
Since the resumption of hostilities, 2,749 Palestinians have been killed, the majority of whom are elderly, women, and children. In addition, 7,607 individuals have sustained injuries.
