Iran has reached an agreement with France, Germany, and the United Kingdom to resume negotiations on the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program, according to the Tehran-based news agency Tasnim, cited by Caliber.Az.
“The principle of negotiations has been agreed upon, but consultations on the timing and venue are still ongoing,” the agency says.
An Axios report said if no deal is reached by that deadline, the three European powers plan to trigger the “snapback” mechanism that automatically reimposes all UN Security Council sanctions that were lifted under the 2015 Iran deal, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
Iran insists on its right to enrich uranium for civilian purposes, while the E3 and U.S. demand significant rollbacks, ideally to JCPOA levels (3.67%).
