French FM awarded by Zelenskyy for support to Ukraine PHOTO
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot has received a high state honour from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for his country’s continued support of Ukraine amid Russia’s ongoing invasion.
“Honoured to receive Yaroslav the Wise Medal from the hands of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, awarded for distinguished services rendered to the Ukrainian nation, which I share with all the agents of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs,” Barrot wrote on social media platform X, Caliber.Az reports.

President Zelenskyy issued the decree on July 18, highlighting Barrot’s "significant personal contribution to strengthening interstate cooperation, supporting the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine."
During his recent visit to Kyiv, Barrot also travelled to the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant on July 21 to inspect damage caused by Russian attacks. He noted that France had allocated €10 million to help address the aftermath and urged other countries to contribute to the recovery efforts.
Barrot reaffirmed France’s commitment to Ukraine, vowing continued diplomatic pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin.
