UK provides over £1 billion to Ukraine using profits from frozen Russian assets
The United Kingdom has provided Ukraine with over £1 billion in aid funded by profits from frozen Russian assets.
The UK Ministry of Defence announced that more than £1 billion in supplies for Ukraine — including ammunition, air defence missiles, drones, spare parts, and service contracts — has been financed using revenues from immobilised Russian assets, Caliber.Az reports, citing the official UK government website.
The statement was made by UK Defence Secretary John Healey during his visit to Kyiv on September 3.
The ministry clarified that the UK has also extended £2.26 billion to Ukraine in the form of a loan through the Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration Fund, with repayment sourced from income generated by the frozen assets.
