Ukraine imposes sanctions against Belarus Including sons of President Lukashenko
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has approved a new sanctions package, which also includes restrictive measures against Belarus.
The announcement was made in Zelenskyy’s evening video address.
“I have signed another Ukrainian sanctions package – a significant one – targeting, in particular, entities in Belarus. This is a signal to many of our partners about where pressure should be applied to reduce the scale and intensity of this war,” the statement said.
According to the president, Russia lacks goodwill and must be compelled to take steps necessary to reduce aggression.
“Belarus must not be drawn into this war. There must be no operations against other European countries. And this Russia’s war against Ukraine must end in a dignified peace,” Zelenskyy added.
As reported by TASS, Zelenskyy imposed sanctions for 10 years on two sons of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. According to the decree, the restrictions apply to Viktor and Dmitry Lukashenko.
In total, the Ukrainian sanctions list includes 16 Belarusian citizens and 11 legal entities.
