Ukraine rules out any threats to its citizens in Georgia
Georgian Ambassador to Ukraine George Zakarashvili and Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Yevhen Perebyinis have met in Kyiv.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry does not see any threats to the Ukrainian citizens during their stay in Georgia, Novosti Georgia reports citing a commentary following the meeting.
“During the meeting, the sides discussed current issues related to bilateral relations between Georgia and Ukraine. The Georgian side once again noted the support and solidarity of Georgia with Ukraine. The Ukrainian side expressed gratitude to Georgia for both political support and important humanitarian assistance rendered during the war. Ukraine expressed gratitude for accepting Ukrainian refugees. Ukraine and the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry are grateful to the Georgian side for accepting Ukrainian citizens in Georgia and for the assistance, and do not see any danger regarding the stay of Ukrainian citizens in Georgia,” the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.
Moreover, a meeting was held at the Georgian Foreign Ministry in Tbilisi with Chargé d'Affaires of Ukraine Andrei Kasyanov on January 25.
Before the meeting, the foreign ministry announced that Kasyanov had been summoned for clarification on the latest statements in the media and other issues would not be discussed.
