Ukraine urges EU to impose sanctions on 30 Russian banks
The Yermak-McFaul international working group has called on the EU to impose sanctions against all Russian state-owned banks among 30 biggest ones, including Gazprombank.
“The seventh package of sanctions is being discussed. The inclusion of a number of Russian banks involved in the financing of the war on the SDN list is on the agenda,” European Pravda reports referring to Yermak-McFaul international working group’s message on Twitter.
“We would simply impose sanctions on all top thirty banks, including Gazprombank. Payment for gas can be easily made through a separate mechanism,” the message said.
“SDN sanctions envisage a complete ban on transactions except for specific, well-defined purposes. For example, they may concern banks licensed to carry out foreign trade,” the message said.
