Ukrainian servicemen train to operate Mars MLRS in Germany
The Ukrainian servicemen in Germany started to learn how to operate Mars Multiple Launch Rocket Systems.
This was announced at a briefing on June 29, by the representative of the German Defence Ministry Arno Kolats, Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"As for the Mars MLRS that we will supply, the training of personnel has started," Kolatz said.
He confirmed the plans to transfer to Ukraine, together with the Netherlands, the next six Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled guns. At the same time, Kolats noted that the training of the servicemen to manage these self-propelled guns has been completed, but it is not advisable to train new teams.
Also, the representative of the Defence Ministry stressed that all modern weapons are provided to Ukraine subject to prior training on how to manage them.
Earlier it was reported that in total Ukraine will receive ten MLRS MARS. Three of them will be supplied by Germany.
