Azerbaijan-China ties based on strategic partnership, says president's aide
Relations between Azerbaijan and China are based on a comprehensive strategic partnership and are developing dynamically across multiple sectors, Azerbaijani president's assistant Hikmet Hajiyev told journalists.
Hajiyev highlighted the very strong political ties between the two countries, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“This year’s state visit of President Ilham Aliyev to China played an important role in advancing our relations. Today, another productive meeting took place between Chinese President Xi Jinping and President Ilham Aliyev. They refer to each other as ‘my dear friend.’ This atmosphere reflects the close and friendly ties between China and Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan has always supported the ‘One China’ policy. We back China’s positions on Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Xinjiang,” Hajiyev emphasized,
Noting the joint efforts of Azerbaijan and China in combating terrorism, extremism, and separatism, Hajiyev emphasised that both countries adhere to the principles of non-interference in internal affairs and respect for sovereign choices in economic development models.
“This political spirit also translates into trade, economic ties, and technological cooperation between our countries. Today, President Aliyev will meet with leading Chinese companies in energy, renewable energy, communications, and other sectors. We hope this visit will make a significant contribution to the further development of China-Azerbaijan trade and economic relations,” Hajiyev added.
