Uzbekistan to host Termez Dialogue on Central–South Asia connectivity
Uzbekistan is set to host the second meeting of the Termez Dialogue on connectivity between Central and South Asia from June 4 to 6 in Tashkent, with discussions centred on advancing peace, transport connectivity, and sustainable regional cooperation.
The dialogue platform, established in 2025 at the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, will convene more than 150 participants, including politicians, business leaders, representatives of analytical centres, and international organisations from countries across the CIS, Europe, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East.
The event is being organised by the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan, alongside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia.
Participants are expected to address a wide range of issues, including regional security, cooperation with Afghanistan, the development of the Uzbekistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan transport corridor, climate-related challenges, and the strengthening of humanitarian ties among countries.
The program also envisages off-site events in Termez, where delegates will visit the Ayritom International Centre and the Termez Cargo Centre logistics complex.
The forum will conclude in Samarkand. At the end of the meeting, participants are expected to adopt a final communiqué focused on further strengthening partnerships between Central and South Asia.
