Consultations between British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, US President Joe Biden, and French President Emmanuel Macron will commence at 07:30 GMT and are expected to last until approximately 10:00 GMT. Discussions will centre on the Ukrainian conflict and the situation in the Middle East. Following the Berlin meeting, the Quartet will travel to Ramstein Air Base for a subsequent gathering on Ukraine, scheduled to start around 14:00 GMT.
The last meeting of the contact group on military assistance to Ukraine took place on September 6, when allies discussed the supply of air defence equipment to Ukraine. The informal name of the group stems from the American airbase Ramstein, where the initial meeting on military assistance to Kyiv was held in April 2022, and it comprises around 50 countries.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced preparations for the contact group's meeting at the Ramstein military base in Germany, where specific actions aimed at resolving the conflict will be discussed. He shared this update via his Telegram channel.
“We will present a plan for victory, clear, concrete steps for a just end to the war,” he stated, emphasizing the importance of Ukraine's partners' resolve and strengthened support in halting Russian aggression.
