Wizz Air suspends Tel Aviv flights after Iranian missile attack
Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air has temporarily suspended all flights to and from Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport scheduled for June 8 and June 9 following a missile attack launched by Iran against Israel.
In a statement, the carrier said the move was taken amid heightened security concerns after Iran fired missiles at Israel for the first time in two months, Caliber.Az reports per Israeli media.
“The safety and security of our passengers and crew remains the airline’s highest priority,” Wizz Air said. “Wizz Air continues to closely monitor the evolving situation in coordination with relevant authorities and will adjust operations accordingly.”
The suspension was announced despite Israeli authorities keeping the country's airspace open and Ben Gurion International Airport continuing normal operations.
