UK intelligence: Russian army shells Kherson as it retreats
28 November 2022 12:23
Despite its liberation by Ukrainian forces on November 11, Kherson city in southern Ukraine continues to suffer daily bombardment by Russian artillery with 10 people killed on November 24 alone.
A recent high of 54 shelling incidents was reported in the area on November 27, Caliber.Az reports, citing the British Defence Intelligence update on Twitter on the situation in Ukraine.
“The city is vulnerable because it remains in range of most of Russia’s artillery systems, now firing from the east bank of the Dnipro River, from the rear of newly consolidated defensive lines,” the report says.
According to UK intelligence, much of the damage is likely inflicted in Kherson by Russia’s use of multiple rocket launchers, principally BM-21 Grad systems.
