Turkish armoured vehicle withstands mine explosion in Ukraine VIDEO
A Ukrainian serviceman has shown a damaged Turkish mine-resistant ambush-protected vehicle 'Kirpi', which withstood a mine explosion and a direct blow.
The wheel of the vehicle was torn off, the window glasses cracked as a result of a blow to the front part of the vehicle, nevertheless, the entire crew was not wounded, the Ukrainian Focus reported citing "Sofa Assault Brigade" Telegram channel.
According to the message, a spare wheel has already been provided.
"I think we’ll move soon. The boys are capering. The bulletproof glass was attacked six times. The vehicle withstood a direct blow, that’s what the armoured vehicle means", the military man said.
Presently, about 50 Kirpi (Turkish for "Hedgehog") vehicles are used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Ukraine will receive 150 more vehicles in the future. The vehicles have been equipped with energy-absorbing seats.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces were telling about using Turkish Kirpi vehicles on November 16. The military notes its high level of protection.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Armed Forces obtained Israeli Amir armoured vehicles. According to the media reports, they were handed over without Israel's approval.
