“Grateful to represent President Trump and the American people at Expo 2025 alongside Ambassador Emanuel, and to celebrate the enduring alliance between our nations.”
While no formal trade agreement was signed during this visit, Bessent indicated that discussions were productive and that both nations are focused on securing a long-term economic framework that benefits both sides.
"A good deal is more important than a rushed deal," he said. “A mutually beneficial trade agreement between the United States and Japan remains within the realm of possibility. I look forward to continuing formal talks in the future.”
