Ukraine sends request to Finland for discussing combat aircraft transfer

Ukraine has submitted a request to Finland for discussing the possibility of transferring F/A-18 Hornet fighters to Kyiv.
“The request came after Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin discussed with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy the possibility of transferring Hornet fighter jets to the country,” according to the Finnish edition of Helsingin Sanomat.
The publication reported, citing its own sources, that the request seeks trilateral negotiations between Finland, Ukraine and the United States regarding the supply of combat aircraft.
The possible transfer of these aircraft in the future requires US approval since the F / A-18 Hornet is manufactured by an American defence company.
