Kyiv: Ukraine repels over 22 attacks of Russian troops

The Ukrainian Defence Forces repulsed 22 enemy attacks in five directions on May 30.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff made the remarks in its operational summary, Ukrainska Pravda reports.

"Over the past 24 hours, the Russian Federation carried out another massive air strike on Ukrainian territory, using Shahed strike drones. Almost all of the drones were destroyed by our defenders. However, there were casualties among the civilian population, with damage to private residential buildings and other civil and administrative infrastructure,” the report said.

On May 30, Russian troops launched 64 air, one rocket attack, and 88 rocket launchers.

The report added that the likelihood of missile and air strikes throughout Ukraine remains high in the future.

It was noted that the Russian troops continue to focus their main efforts on attempts to fully occupy the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

Furthermore, the Ukrainian air defence forces carried out 11 strikes on the areas where Russia’s personnel and military equipment were concentrated, as well as a strike on its anti-aircraft missile system. In this vein, Ukrainian defenders destroyed 32 Shahed-type UAVs.

“In addition, units of missile troops and artillery struck three control points, an area of concentration of Russia’s manpower, four artillery units at a firing position, an anti-aircraft missile complex, three fuel and lubricants warehouses and an electronic warfare station," reads the report.
