Putin: External pressure stimulated growth of production in Russia

External pressure on Russia has become an incentive for the growth of its own production, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with the elected heads of new Russian regions.

“External pressure ultimately became a powerful incentive for the growth of our own production, unlocking our own potential in a variety of areas,” he said, the Kremlin reports.

The President noted that the time has come for new opportunities and new approaches in the Russian economy “contrary to the plans of those who dreamed of strangling us with sanctions.”

Putin drew attention to the need for further close work and support by the government, federal and municipal authorities for companies and enterprises that are ready to occupy vacated niches, offer high-tech projects and solutions that are in demand by the economy and meet the national goals and priorities of the country.

The head of state emphasized that among the priorities of the governors’ work are the development of infrastructure and the training of professional personnel.
