Verkhovna Rada cancels Ukrainian presidential election

The Ukrainian parliament, known as the Verkhovna Rada, has cancelled the presidential election that was scheduled to take place during wartime, Gazeta.ru reports citing Ukrainian daily Strana.ua.

The Rada deputies adopted a declaration to this effect, with all factions and groups participating in its adoption.

The decision was made after the ninth "Jean Monnet dialogue" that took place in the village of Turia Paseka in the Transcarpathian region. The event was attended by Euro-instructors, led by the former president of the European Parliament, Pat Cox.
