Kremlin spox responds to mobilisation claims in Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin has reiterated that mobilization is unnecessary, as stated by presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.

According to Moscow-based Kommersant newspaper, in response to a Financial Times article suggesting an imminent wave of partial mobilization, Peskov dismissed the claims, indicating ongoing recruitment efforts for volunteer contractors.

He emphasized Putin's stance, echoing the military's view that mobilization is currently unnecessary.

“It is unlikely that the FT understands the real picture, we can only say, you know, we have a very active recruitment of volunteer contractors going on and on, it is going daily. And the president has said repeatedly that, in the opinion of the military, there is no such need (to carry out mobilization - ed.),” Peskov said.
