Any action of Iran against Azerbaijan boomerangs back - official

15 December 2022 16:06

Chairman of the Azerbaijani State Committee for Work with Religious Structures Mubariz Gurbanli has said that any action of Iran against Azerbaijan boomerangs back on itself.

In the past, when there were no educational institutions providing religious education in the country, citizens of Azerbaijan used to go to Iran, Report quotes the chairman as saying on December 15.

“Among those receiving religious education in Iran were those who fell under local influence. Now, this is being prevented by creating various religious educational institutions in Azerbaijan. Now the citizens of Azerbaijan do not see the need to receive religious education in Iran or in other countries, because Azerbaijan has the Institute of Theology and various religious colleges. Thanks to these colleges, we can train a sufficient number of personnel. Those who receive religious education abroad adopt the religious model of these countries and try to propagate it when they return to their homeland. Some of them even participate in anti-Azerbaijani propaganda in Iran. Law enforcement agencies in Azerbaijan are taking appropriate measures in this regard,” Gurbanli said.

According to him, Iran is now experiencing a deep crisis, which is also caused by the policies pursued there under the guise of religion.

The committee chairman demanded Iran stop its anti-Azerbaijani activities and exclaimed that Iran will not be able to commit any provocation in any sphere of Azerbaijan, including religious.
