Armenia, France sign defence cooperation plan for 2026
Armenia and France have signed the Armenia–France Defence Cooperation Plan for 2026, covering several dozen activities across nearly all areas of their armed forces, the Armenian Ministry of Defence announced.
The agreement was finalised during the Armenia–France Bilateral Strategic Defence Consultations held in Paris on December 15–16, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
The Armenian delegation was led by Levon Ayvazyan, Head of the Department of Defence Policy and International Cooperation, while French counterparts included Guillaume Ollagnier, newly appointed Director of the Department of International Relations and Strategy at the French Ministry of the Armed Forces, and Lt. Gen. Éric Peltier, Deputy Director of the same department.
During the consultations, the parties reviewed cooperation carried out in 2025 and outlined plans for the coming year. They also emphasised the importance of giving bilateral cooperation strategic substance and an institutional character.
It was agreed that the next round of strategic defence consultations will be held in Yerevan.
