Armenia presents details behind death of two servicemen

Armenian Investigative Committee has presented details of the death of two servicemen in a military unit.

Earlier, the Armenian Defence Ministry said that on August 27, two servicemen of one of the military units of the Armenian Defence Ministry died under unclear circumstances, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

According to investigators, at about 16:00, Artem Haykazyan, a sentry at the combat position of one of the units, shot Armen Khachatryan, a senior soldier, with an AK-74 assigned to him and then shot himself.

According to preliminary data, the incident was connected with non-statutory relations. Criminal proceedings have been initiated and the investigation is ongoing.
