Azerbaijan briefs military attaches about local anti-terror measures in Garabagh
On September 19, the International Military Cooperation Department under the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry held a briefing for foreign military attaches and representatives of international organisations accredited in Azerbaijan.
Addressing the briefing, Head of the International Military Cooperation Department Maj-Gen Huseyn Mahmudov informed the participants about local anti-terrorism measures being carried out in the Garabagh region of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry told Caliber.Az.
The local anti-terror measures have been launched in the region to ensure the provisions of the tripartite statement, suppress large-scale provocations in the Garabagh economic region, disarm and demand the withdrawal of formations of the Armenian Armed Forces from the Azerbaijani territories, destroy the Armenian military infrastructure, ensure the safety of Azerbaijani civilians returning to the territories liberated from occupation, the safety of Azerbaijani civil servants, involved in construction and restoration work and Azerbaijani military personnel, as well as restore the constitutional system of Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijani Armed Forces does not shell the Armenian civilians and civilian infrastructure, only legitimate military targets are being destroyed. Video footage pertaining to destroyed military targets was shown in the briefing and questions were answered.
