Azerbaijan provides platform for Comorian voices on international stage Official rep of Comoros says

Official representative of the Comoros Zirari Madi has said that Azerbaijan provided an opportunity for the voices of the Comorian people to be heard on the international stage.

He noted that Azerbaijan is one of the few countries in the world that opens its doors to nations like the Comoros, which seek justice and have long struggled against French colonization, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

"I was born and lived on the island of Mayotte, part of the Union of the Comoros. But now I am a citizen of France, not the Comoros. I am grateful to Azerbaijan and the Baku Initiative Group for opening their doors to us and allowing us to voice our concerns internationally. France, as we know, continues its colonial policy. However, this will not last forever," he added.

The Baku Initiative Group (BIG) is a diplomatic and advocacy organisation based in Baku, Azerbaijan, focused on fostering dialogue and cooperation on issues related to colonised peoples, self-determination, and human rights. 

The Baku Initiative Group has been involved in creating safe spaces for dialogue, such as conferences on self-determination and the rights of colonised peoples.
