Azerbaijan extradites Indian citizen to Monaco over economic crimes

The Azerbaijani General Prosecutor's Office has announced that 33-year-old Indian citizen Rathore Devanshu was extradited by Azerbaijan to Monaco.

Devanshu was wanted by Monaco’s authorities on charges of economic crimes, Caliber.Az reports, citing the General Prosecutor's Office. 

The man was arrested in Azerbaijan in June 2024, and a detention order was subsequently issued.

The decision to extradite was made and executed per the European Convention on Extradition and its additional protocols. The convicted individual was handed over to Monaco's authorities, escorted by a special convoy from Azerbaijan's Penitentiary Service.
