Azerbaijan, Qatar discuss bilateral ties, Syria energy support in Davos PHOTO
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, in Davos, where discussions focused on bilateral relations and highlighted Azerbaijan–Qatar cooperation in supporting Syria’s energy supply.
The Prime Minister conveyed the greetings of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, to President Ilham Aliyev, Caliber.Az reports, citing state media.
President Ilham Aliyev thanked him for the message and asked that his own regards be passed on to the Amir of Qatar.
The two leaders praised the current state of bilateral relations, noting the strong potential for expanding cooperation in various fields, particularly in the economic and trade sectors.
Both sides voiced confidence that Azerbaijan–Qatar ties will continue to deepen in the coming period.
They also highlighted the successful cooperation in restoring Syria’s energy supply through the delivery of Azerbaijani gas by SOCAR.
The talks covered a number of matters of mutual interest.
