Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has presented the country’s strategic vision and key foreign policy priorities during a visit to Austria for the 4th European Conference on Azerbaijani Studies.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the event brought together politicians, representatives of think tanks, academics and independent experts to discuss Azerbaijan’s regional role and long-term policy direction.
Speaking at a roundtable discussion, Bayramov highlighted Azerbaijan’s growing position in the region as a stabilising force. He briefed participants on the country’s achievements in multilateral formats, noting that international cooperation now requires greater trust and effectiveness.
The minister also announced that Azerbaijan will host the 13th World Urban Forum and World Environment Day in 2026.
He said the global events would focus on sustainable urban development, adequate housing, clean energy infrastructure and the mobilisation of climate finance, reflecting Azerbaijan’s regional and international responsibilities.
Bayramov recalled the outcomes of the Washington summit held on August 8, where a joint declaration and other important documents were signed. He also noted the completion of the process of closing the structures of the OSCE Minsk Process, describing it as an international recognition of the new post-conflict realities in the region.
Emphasising the strengthening of transport and energy corridors linking the Caspian and Black Sea regions, Bayramov reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s readiness to cooperate with all partners.
He said that peace, regional connectivity, economic security and sustainable development would remain the main priorities of the country’s future diplomacy.
