Azerbaijan, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus strengthen parliamentary ties

Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova has met with Zorlu Töre, President of the National Assembly of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) during the 13th plenary meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA).

The sides highlighted the significance of TURKPA as a platform for enhancing cooperation between their legislatures, Report informs.

Speaker Gafarova affirmed Azerbaijan's commitment to bolstering inter-parliamentary connections during its upcoming chairmanship of the organization.

The formation of a working group for inter-parliamentary relations between Azerbaijan and the TRNC this April was lauded by Zorlu Töre, who expressed deep gratitude on behalf of the TRNC.

The speakers further deliberated on expanding contacts between friendship groups and MPs, as well as arranging reciprocal visits to strengthen parliamentary ties between the two countries.
