On April 3, a delegation led by Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and head of the Venezuela-Azerbaijan Friendship Group, América Pérez, visited the Alley of Honor during its official visit to Azerbaijan.
The delegation paid deep respects to the memory of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, the architect, and founder of modern independent Azerbaijani statehood, Heydar Aliyev, by laying flowers at his grave, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The delegation also visited the Victory Park in Baku and laid flowers at the monument.
The guests were then provided with detailed information about Victory Park, created to immortalize the unparalleled heroism demonstrated by the Azerbaijani people during the Patriotic War, their grand historical victory, and the bright memory of martyrs.
The foreign delegation was told that at the entrance to the park, which covers an area of about 10 hectares, a Triumph Arch was built, standing 44 meters tall, 22 meters wide, and featuring 44 columns as a symbol of the 44-day Patriotic War.
During the visit, the delegation was accompanied by Tamam Jafarova, a member of the Milli Majlis and head of the Azerbaijan-Venezuela interparliamentary friendship group, along with other official figures.
