Türkiye achieves milestone with first jet engine export to Brazil
Türkiye has reached a significant milestone in its defence industry by securing its first-ever export of a jet engine, the KTJ-3200 turbojet, to Brazil.
The agreement, finalized during the LAAD Defence and Security Exhibition in Brazil on April 4, 2025, involves the supply of the domestically developed KTJ-3200 missile engine to Brazil’s defence industry, marking a key step in Türkiye’s growing defence exports, Caliber.Az reports citing Turkish media.

Kale Jet Engines, a subsidiary of the Kale Group, signed the deal with Brazilian defense company SIATT for the integration of the KTJ-3200 engine into Brazil's MANSUP-ER anti-ship missile system. This missile is set to become a core component of Brazil’s naval defence strategy, designed to reach over 200 kilometres in range with a 150-kilogram warhead.
The KTJ-3200, which has already been used in Türkiye’s Atmaca and SOM missile systems, is Türkiye's first domestically developed turbojet missile engine. It will enable the MANSUP-ER missile to operate with high efficiency while reducing dependence on foreign suppliers—an important factor after previous missile engine exports were restricted by international controls.
The collaboration between Türkiye and Brazil extends beyond just technology export, with the KTJ-3200 potentially entering service not only with the Brazilian Navy but also the UAE Navy. SIATT, a subsidiary of the UAE-based EDGE Group, is leading the MANSUP-ER development in collaboration with the Brazilian Navy.
Haluk Gorgun, the head of Türkiye’s Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB), expressed pride in the export deal, calling it a "concrete manifestation of Türkiye’s vision to develop high-tech, high value-added products." He added, “This agreement is not only an export success but also strengthens Türkiye’s position as a global leader in the defence industry.”
This deal reflects Türkiye’s growing ambition to become a global leader in defence technology while increasing its competitiveness in international markets. Gorgun also emphasized Türkiye's ongoing efforts to localize its defence industry and enhance cooperation with allied countries, further solidifying its role as a technology-exporting nation.
