Armenian PM meets with US envoy in Washington VIDEO
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, currently visiting Washington, D.C., met on August 8 with Steve Witkoff, the US President’s Special Envoy.
According to the prime minister’s office, the discussion focused on advancing Armenia–US relations and planning next steps in their bilateral cooperation, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
The sides also exchanged views on the upcoming meetings scheduled for later in the day, including the White House summit between Prime Minister Pashinyan and US President Donald Trump, as well as a trilateral meeting involving the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the United States.
This follows Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s own engagement in Washington on August 7, where he met with Special Envoy Witkoff.
The meeting opened with a significant development as Azerbaijan’s State Oil Company (SOCAR) and ExxonMobil signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The agreement was signed by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and ExxonMobil’s Vice President John Ardill, in the presence of President Aliyev and Envoy Witkoff.
