Trump welcomes Armenian PM to White House ahead of key peace talks VIDEO
A bilateral meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has begun in Washington.
Caliber.Az reports that Trump welcomed Pashinyan at the entrance of the White House. After an exchange of greetings and a protocol photo, the two leaders entered the building. They were followed by members of the Armenian delegation, including Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan, and others.
Following his meeting with Pashinyan, President Trump is also expected to meet privately with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev as part of the broader talks taking place at the White House.
This meeting raises hopes for the long-anticipated signing of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
President Trump will discuss plans for cooperation with both leaders aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and promoting peace in the region.
Following the meetings, official statements on the outcomes are expected to be delivered to journalists in the Oval Office.
