New business council set to deepen Kazakh–Turkish economic ties
Kazakhstan and Türkiye have formalised the creation of a new Kazakhstan-Türkiye Business Council following the signing of a cooperation agreement in Astana.
The initiative was spearheaded by the Kazakhstan Chamber of Foreign Trade in partnership with the Association of Turkish and Kazakh Businessmen (TUKIB), a prominent alliance of companies and entrepreneurs from both nations, Caliber.Az reports, referring to Kazakh media.
The agreement is designed to deepen economic cooperation, promote investment, and eliminate barriers hampering bilateral commercial activity. It was signed by Murat Karimsakov, Chairman of the Board of the Kazakhstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Abbas Şahin, Chairman of TUKIB.
In a statement, TUKIB emphasised that the council will serve as a key platform for enhancing economic, political, and cultural collaboration, underpinned by the long-standing ties between the two countries. It will focus on strengthening partnerships across strategic sectors, including infrastructure, agriculture, transport and logistics, healthcare, mining, manufacturing, energy, and digital technologies.
“We are confident that the newly created council, which will become an effective platform for the further development of trade and economic relations between Kazakhstan and Türkiye, will benefit the two brotherly countries, including representatives of Turkish and Kazakh business circles,” said Şahin after the signing.
Founded in Almaty in 2016, TUKIB brings together leading Kazakh and Turkish firms and has positioned itself as a vital connector between the two countries’ business communities. Its mission includes improving Kazakhstan’s investment climate, encouraging industrial cooperation, providing support and advice to entrepreneurs, and strengthening socio-cultural relations.
Through the newly established Business Council, both sides aim to stimulate joint ventures, foster mutual growth, and create a framework for sustainable and equitable economic engagement.
