Azerbaijan, Venezuela celebrate 30 years of diplomatic relations with promising talks
Azerbaijan and Venezuela are looking to take their partnership to the next level, as top officials from both countries met in Baku to discuss strengthening ties.
Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, welcomed a Venezuelan delegation led by Deputy Chair of the National Assembly, America Valentina Perez Davila, who also heads the Venezuela-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The meeting underscored the strong bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two nations, with both sides highlighting the importance of expanding their collaboration. The significance of high-level mutual visits was also emphasized.
Marking the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year, Azerbaijan and Venezuela expressed satisfaction with their effective cooperation in international organizations such as the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement.
The discussion also turned to pressing global issues, including climate change and its impact on developing countries. Perez Davila congratulated Azerbaijan on successfully hosting the COP29 global climate conference, recognizing its role in shaping the international climate agenda.
Beyond global concerns, Speaker Gafarova also briefed the Venezuelan delegation on the post-conflict situation in the South Caucasus, providing insights into regional developments.
With both nations reaffirming their commitment to stronger cooperation, the meeting set the stage for new opportunities to deepen diplomatic, economic, and environmental collaboration in the years ahead.
