Azerbaijani centre: Commission should be set up to investigate Armenia's war crimes
Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijani Social Research Centre Zahid Oruj has said that a commission should be created to investigate Armenia's war crimes in the first and second Karabakh wars.
Oruj made the remarks at a conference entitled "Armenia's war crimes against Azerbaijan over the past 30 years" organised by the centre on October 10, Report informs.
The chairman noted that the excitement around unconfirmed video footage of the alleged murder of Armenian soldiers is aimed at undermining Azerbaijan's victory in the second Karabakh war.
"The 44-day war became a real Nuremberg trial. After our victory, the world saw that more than a million mines were planted on the liberated lands. None of the killers of Khojaly civilians appeared before international courts. Most of their 'heroes' of the last 30 years are those who committed crimes against our people. The Hague Tribunal was supposed to punish these Armenian criminals," he said.
he said that if Armenia fails to pay compensation to Azerbaijan for inflicted damages, this compensation can be made in the form of land.
"The military assistance to Ukraine only by the US reaches $26 billion, $500 billion has been promised for Ukraine's restoration. We support it. However, we see no support for our liberated territories. If Armenia is unable to pay compensation, this compensation can be made in the form of land, etc.,"the chairman said.
