Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Kenya, Sultan Hajiyev, met with Kenya’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, to discuss the progress of growing bilateral relations.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the rapid development of ties between the two countries throughout 2023, noting that a series of high-level visits during the year had significantly contributed to strengthening cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Hajiyev highlighted the achievements made across several key areas, including energy, information and communication technology (ICT), the judicial-legal system, interparliamentary relations, the penitentiary service, and education.
He also underscored the importance of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between ADA University and Kenya's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Affairs’ Foreign Service Academy, which he described as creating new opportunities for enhanced collaboration between diplomatic institutions.
The meeting also focused on the positive impact of various initiatives aimed at fostering closer ties between the two nations. Both sides acknowledged the importance of educational scholarships offered to Kenyan youth under the Heydar Aliyev International Education Grant Programme, as well as the humanitarian efforts provided by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA), which have supported schools and hospitals in Kenya.
These initiatives, they agreed, play a significant role in strengthening the friendly relations between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Kenya.
