Bahrain reports intercepting dozens of Iranian missiles, drones
The General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force announced that Bahrain’s air defence systems, operating with “unrelenting vigilance,” have intercepted successive waves of Iranian attacks targeting the Kingdom.
Since the onset of the aggression, the air defences have destroyed 78 missiles and 129 drones, according to the statement, BNA reports.
The command praised its personnel, saying it takes “immense pride in the advanced combat readiness and exceptional vigilance demonstrated” and highlighted the “sustained operational excellence with which the Kingdom is being defended.” It added that the performance of its forces provides “firm assurance that the skies of the Kingdom remain protected.”
Authorities urged citizens and residents to remain indoors except when absolutely necessary and to exercise the “utmost caution for their personal safety.” The public is advised to avoid affected areas and suspicious objects, refrain from filming military operations or debris impact sites, and to avoid spreading unverified information. Official government media channels are the sole recommended source for updates, alerts, and warnings.
The General Command condemned the attacks, stating that the use of ballistic missiles and drones against civilian infrastructure and private property constitutes “a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the United Nations Charter,” and that these indiscriminate strikes represent “a direct threat to regional peace and security.”
