Belarus opens path toward Africa and Yemen with Oman embassy decision
The Belarusian government has approved the opening of a new embassy in the Sultanate of Oman as part of efforts to expand its diplomatic and economic outreach, according to a statement released by the government’s press service and reported by BelTA.
The relevant resolution was signed by Prime Minister Alexander Turchin.
Officials said the establishment of a permanent diplomatic presence in Oman is expected to enhance the effectiveness of Belarus’s work in developing political dialogue, trade and economic cooperation, and investment relations. The embassy will also support the practical assessment of opportunities for industrial cooperation and joint entry into new markets.
“The establishment of a permanent diplomatic presence of Belarus in Oman will significantly increase the effectiveness of efforts aimed at developing political, trade-economic and investment ties, as well as the practical exploration of opportunities for industrial cooperation and the joint development of new markets,” the press service stated.
According to the government, the move is also intended to strengthen Belarus’s position in relations with Oman while creating new opportunities to expand engagement with countries across Africa and Yemen.
