Canada's relations with Russia falls to post-Soviet lows, says envoy

Canadian Ambassador to Moscow Sarah Taylor has said that relations between Russia and Canada have sunk to the lowest point since the collapse of the USSR.

She made the remarks in an interview with the Canadian TV channel CBC.

"I would say that at this point, this relationship is certainly in an extremely bad state, probably the worst it's ever been," she believes.

Taylor added that Canada has a policy of "limited engagement" with Russia, which led to her decision not to attend Russian President Vladimir Putin's inauguration.
