Trump orders nuclear submarines to strategic positions amid Russia’s provocative remarks
US President Donald Trump announced that he has directed the deployment of two nuclear submarines to strategic locations in response to recent provocative statements by Dmitry Medvedev, Russia’s Deputy Chairman of the Security Council and former president.
In a statement addressing Medvedev’s comments on Truth Social, which Trump described as “foolish and inflammatory,” he emphasised the importance of measured language in international relations, Caliber.Az reports.
“Words are very important, and can often lead to unintended consequences,” the president said. “I hope this will not be one of those instances.”
To recall, Medvedev on July 31 told U.S. President Donald Trump to remember that Moscow possessed Soviet-era nuclear strike capabilities of last resort after Trump told Medvedev to "watch his words".
In an earlier post on the same day on his Truth Social, Trump sharply criticised Medvedev, after Medvedev described Trump’s warning to impose punitive tariffs on Russia and its oil buyers as “a game of ultimatums” and a step closer to a war between Russia and the United States.
