Ukraine’s Zelenskyy seeks more Patriot systems in talks with US senators VIDEO

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with US senators at the beginning of his visit to New York to attend the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.

According to a post on the Ukrainian president’s official Telegram channel, the main topics included strengthening Ukraine’s air defence and imposing new sanctions on Russia.

Zelenskyy thanked US lawmakers for supporting a sanctions bill introduced by the late US Senator Lindsey Graham and emphasised the need for further coordination of sanctions policy.

The sides also discussed Ukraine’s air defence needs, including Patriot systems, amid preparations for the winter period. Zelenskyy also presented the US side with his proposals for further diplomatic steps, which are expected to be discussed with US President Donald Trump.

Zelenskyy also held a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron.
