A ceasefire has been established between Syrian security forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF, affiliated with the PKK/YPG terrorist organisation) following clashes in the Ashrafiya and Sheikh Maqsoud neighbourhoods of Aleppo province.
According to Syria.tv, a source within the security services confirmed that the ceasefire was reached after confrontations with the SDF and has now officially taken effect.
The clashes began on the morning of October 6 when snipers deployed by the SDF fired upon a Syrian Interior Ministry checkpoint in the Ashrafiya and Sheikh Maqsoud neighbourhoods.
Tensions escalated toward the evening, with the group reportedly shelling nearby residential areas using mortars and artillery.
The attacks forced dozens of families to flee their homes. In addition, one woman was killed and four individuals sustained injuries during the clashes.
