Chinese FM talks with Gulf, South Asian leaders, condemns attacks on Iran
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held separate phone conversations with several senior officials from Gulf and South Asian countries to discuss the escalating situation surrounding Iran, Ambassador of China to India Xu Feihong said in a post on his X account.

During the calls, Wang spoke with Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, FM of Kuwait, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, FM of Bahrain, Mohammad Ishaq Dar FM of Pakistan, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani PM and FM of Qatar.
China reiterated its longstanding position that disputes should be resolved through political and diplomatic channels. Beijing emphasized that the top priority is an immediate cessation of military operations to prevent the conflict from escalating further.
According to the statement, China stressed that the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of Gulf countries must be fully respected, and that any attacks on civilians or non-military targets deserve condemnation.
China also criticized recent military actions carried out by the United States and Israel against Iran, stating that the strikes were conducted without authorization from the United Nations and took place while negotiations between Washington and Tehran were still ongoing.
Beijing said such actions constitute a clear violation of international law and risk further destabilizing the region.
