Collapse at Rome’s Imperial Forum injures worker, prompts investigation PHOTO
On November 3, a section of the Torre dei Conti, currently undergoing renovation, partially collapsed in Largo Corrado Ricci, in the heart of Rome’s Imperial Forum.
Emergency services swiftly intervened to rescue those trapped, with local authorities closing off pedestrian and vehicular access to the affected area, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.

A 64-year-old worker was seriously injured when he was swept by falling rubble. He sustained a head injury and was transported to San Giovanni hospital by the 118 emergency service. Two other individuals with minor injuries refused hospital treatment.
Firefighters rescued three additional workers trapped on scaffolding without any injuries.
The Mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, visited the scene as another section of the tower continued to crumble, sending a cloud of dust over the surrounding area.
The Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into the collapse, with proceedings coordinated by Deputy Prosecutor Antonino Di Mai and Prosecutor Mario Dovinola.
Judicial police specialising in workplace accidents are on site, and a technical consultancy is expected to reconstruct the events and determine the cause of the collapse.
The Torre dei Conti, a historic medieval tower near the Colosseum, was under renovation at the time of the incident. Authorities have emphasised that no other members of the public were affected.
