Czech firm unveils JWI-4000 UAV interceptor designed to counter Shahed drones PHOTO
Czech defence company LPP s.r.o. has presented its new JWI-4000 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) interceptor, a system specifically developed to counter enemy drones, including Iranian-made Shahed-136 and their derivatives.
The JWI-4000 features a folding fixed-wing design allowing near-vertical takeoff, with an option for a rocket-assisted booster. Powered by an electric ducted fan, it can reach speeds of up to 300 km/h, operate at altitudes of 4,000 meters, and sustain flight for around 20 minutes at maximum height, Caliber.Az reports via military observer on X.

The interceptor is equipped with advanced sensors, artificial intelligence (AI) targeting software, and a directional fragmentation warhead weighing up to 1.5 kilograms.
According to LPP, the AI-driven system can autonomously detect, pursue, and destroy targets, making it resistant to jamming.
The JWI-4000 is designed to integrate with existing air defense infrastructure and dedicated detection radars.
Company officials emphasise its role in combating one-way attack drones, a threat that has heavily targeted Ukraine in recent months.
LPP is already supplying Ukraine with its MTS one-way attack UAVs, produced in the hundreds, and the JWI-4000 may soon be — or has already been — deployed on the battlefield.
