SCO leaders sign Bishkek Declaration as bloc marks 25th anniversary
Leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member states have signed the Bishkek Declaration at the organisation’s summit, the summit’s organising committee said on September 1, Russian media reports.
The declaration marks the 25th anniversary of the SCO.
The leaders also signed 27 other documents, including regulations for a Universal Centre for Countering Security Challenges and Threats to SCO member states, and an action plan for developing ports and logistics centres in SCO countries for 2026–2030.
Other documents include a declaration on strengthening multilateral partnership for nuclear and physical nuclear security, a statement on cooperation in energy systems, and a programme for SCO cooperation on establishing a “Green Technology Corridor” for 2026–2030.
